The Best New Music for Autumn 2019

New Releases Autumn 2019

Luis Radio The Call Up Soulfuric Records

This monster jam takes you back to a time of early St Germain recordings. A mastery piece filled with Rhodes and Vibraphones combined with deep strings smoothly rolling through the track with a great deep hook. Whether it was impressing friends with his selections as a kid, or releasing on in-the-know European labels such as Siesta Music and Makin Moves Records, Italian producer Luis Radio has built his career on a rare passion for house music. ‘The Call Up’ is a blissful introduction to those not already familiar with Luis’ sound, as he employs Kerri Chandler inspired xylophone notes with melodic keys and a grooving bassline to produce a sophisticated dancefloor cut. This Soulfuric Deep release is one not to be missed.

Roberto Surace Joys (Purple Disco Machine Remix)  Defected Records

As certain as the sun setting across San Antonio Bay each night, throughout every Ibiza season there is a record that becomes the track of the summer. This year Roberto Surace’s ‘Joys’ has undoubtedly been that track, with his Defected label debut soaring to Beatport and Traxsource #1, while maintaining the top spot of the Ibiza Shazam chart for weeks. Now, after teasing his mix to eager crowds at Defected Croatia and his many festival gigs over the summer, Purple Disco Machine gives a masterclass in trans-formative remixing, lending his disco-tinged sound to ‘Joys’. Moving away from the grittier original, the rubbery bassline and melodic keys of Purple Disco Machine’s remix have universal dance floor appeal, making it the perfect club track for those searching for a fresh groove-laden cut.

P Lask - To Move it. Electric Dangerous Records.

A solid lo-fi House track here that has all the trademarks of that raw edgy deep house music perfect for those 4am vibes. No stranger to crafting A-grade house tracks, P-LASK does it again with a funky, lo-fi styled vibe on Electric Dangerous Records. Moody synth pads and a groove-laden bassline take the lead, enhanced by fluttering, washed-out chord stabs. Add in some pumping percussion and rhythm-laced vocal cuts, and you're left with an indubitable floor-filler.

Back Riot ADE Sampler Album - Black Riot Records

A solid ten tracker from the Midnight Riot crew. This has a nice tough variety of tracks with the revamp of psychotropics Rave classic through to the unpredictable looseness of the Phantoms Revenge. There is something for all DJ's on this album. To celebrate ADE 2019, the magical 5 day electronic music conference and festival held annually in mid-October. For those that don't know, Black Riot Records is the tougher brother of Midnight Riot Records - a larger than life house label with an array of artists & producers from around the globe. This is a limited album sampler, the full album will be available Monday 7th October via Traxsource.

Tush. Don't Be Afraid - Do Right Music

Canadian Disco vibes here which have an almost Naked Music feel to it from the early 2000's but also hints at Moloko influences too. This has a raw live disco band style in terms of live rough and ready drums with a nice chuggy bass line and some haunting strings. Don’t Be Afraid is an atmospheric slow-burner with underlying rhythmic pulsations which smoothly transition into an uplifting gospel-infused disco track with Kamilah on lead vocals - “Ultimately, the song is about having the courage to love defiantly, urgently, and with intention," explains Kamiliah. ‘Into You’, then rounds things off with signature cosmic vibes, sensuous vocals and shooting synths that continue to rise throughout. Available on Do Right music Canada in late November 2019.
