Alpaca Edits Review

Alpaca Edits have struck out with yet another fine display of hot Synth Funk and slick soulful sounds. Coming straight out of the early 80's Boogie scene for the first track which has used Chic's vocalist Norma Jean Wrights track from 1983 called "Love Attack" A full on straight forward synth bass affair with Afro's smoothly filtered rendition this is perfect for the floor.

Following on in a similar fashion but stepping back to 1978 Afro takes apart the all time classic track "No Limit" by Breakwater. One of the coolest cuts from back in the day with an awesome Brass section that sounds like it could be from an Incognito record from the 90's.
What I like about Afro's style are his very low frequency breakdowns midway which allow his re-edits to come back in for one last almighty slam.

The third cut on this fine release is the rendition of "Busta Jones" Boogie shaker "You Keep On Makin Me Hot" which originates from 1979 on Spring Records. His use of the bass loop at the start of the track could easily be pitched up and sound like it came out on Crydamoure Records in the late 90's, with its gritty crackle effect that bangs straight into the main hook of the original version.
So overall some very tasty tracks perfect for the dance floor where ever you may be.
